Our partners and other organizations in Metro Denver and across Colorado sponsor events to increase understanding and provide support for efforts to address homelessness. 3/11 – Helping Impact Kids Explore (HIKE) – H.I.K.E. is about taking kids experiencing homelessness out of the shelters and giving them a chance to explore some of the incredible things that Colorado has to offer. The event will run from 7:30 a.m – 2:30 p.m, and the group will be meeting at Coffee at The Point. The registration fee of $35 will ensure that each child receives a pair of new shoes, a new backpack, HIKE t-shirt or hoodie, breakfast and Lunch and water bottles through out the day. 3/28 – Interfaith Summit on Housing and Homelessness – The summit for pastors, rabbis, imams and others leading a ministry or missions committee will take place from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm at the Iliff School of Theology, near the University of Denver campus. The day-long event will feature a panel from community and congregational leaders, interactive breakout sessions from community agencies, time for networking and an action plan to equip participants with the tools needed to educate, engage and advocate around shifting action from homelessness to housing in Metro Denver. HOME Poetry Out Loud – Join Close to Home on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM to express and listen to spoken truth about homelessness and what having a home means. The event will be hosted at Community College of Aurora and admission is free. Get your ticket today by clicking here.
