Summer Resources for Children & Youth

The daily needs and challenges of children experiencing homelessness persist in the summer months, along with a desire to enjoy a bit of fleeting summertime kid-fun. We have gathered a list of resources to help meet critical needs and provide enrichment opportunities. These resources, available through metro-area school districts, communities and charitable organizations, include:

  • Academics – early literacy through high school
  • Childcare
  • Drop-in centers
  • Healthcare & crisis services
  • Job training
  • Libraries, museums, festivals, music & events
  • Summer camps & recreational center/programs
  • Summer meal programs
  • Transportation

Please share these resources with your networks so that as many kids as possible can benefit, and share with us additional resources that you know of. Let’s also continue to speak up (and inspire others we know to speak up) and push for greater efforts to end the sorrow of children experiencing homelessness in our communities.
