Home Sweet Home Ads

A “welcome” door mat, name plate for a child’s room, home-sweet-home needlepoint sign, growth marks for children on a wall, and family photos on a bedside night stand are familiar touches in the homes of many families.  A series of provocative ads juxtapose these homey touches with unstable and potentially unsafe settings representative of the places where many families, children, youth, seniors and other metro area residents experiencing homelessness live. The ads prompt viewers to consider what it’s like not to have a safe place to call home, and encourage actions to address the increasingly broad reach of homelessness.

Appear on billboards and bus shelter kiosks, and in The Denver Post, the “Home Sweet Home” ads were generously created pro bono by the Barnhart USA agency through Ad Club Colorado’s Good Works program. Special thanks go to Ad Club Colorado and the Barnhart team of Stephen Dalton, Associate Creative Director; Maggie Wann, Art Director; and Bill Schumacher, President/Account Director; and photographer Barry Gutierrez.
